The Clayman is happy to introduce Dan Joffre as our comedy writer advisor associate. Dan is currently working with Paul helping to develop a variety of short animated sketch outlines. As an elite Olympic wrestler at the Canadian National Training Center, Dan learned the discipline needed to be able to juggle his love of performing into the mix. Musicals, children's theater and karaoke balanced out a hectic national and international medal-winning wrestling career, including the 1996 Olympic trials, and the Maccabiah Games in Israel where Dan proudly won the Gold medal for Canada. In 1997, it was time to step off the mat and onto the stage, Dan headed for Vancouver. He auditioned for the Vancouver Theater Sports League and became a main stage player. Soon Dan landed a lead TV role as Buddy on the 'Charlie Horse Music Pizza' show opposite Shari Lewis, Dom Deluise and Lambchop. Soon after, Dan competed for Team Vancouver at the Montreal 'Just For Laughs' World Improv Championships. His squad not only won, but was invited to return. They won again and Dan, in total, earned the MVP award a record 9 times. Now a veteran of over 2500 Improv shows, Dan entertains not only on the stage, but for major companies all over North America.
After having won Just For Laughs, Director Keenan Ivory Wayans cast Dan in 2000's Scary Movie as Kenny, the cameraman, bringing Dan from the stage back to the big screen. Dan has since guest starred on ' Da Vinci's Inquest', 'Human Cargo', ' The Chris Isaak Show' and has written and guest-hosted on 'This hour has 22 minutes'. His feature films include Lizzie McGuire, My Boss's Daughter, Scooby Doo 2, Halloween Resurrection and The Santa Clause 2. Recently Dan was on the tube in The Collector, Dead Like Me, Smallville, and Super Volcano. He was stoked to have played Scrooge's ghostly business partner Jacob Marley, in A&E Network's Karroll's Christmas directed by Denis Dugan. Most recently, Dan has played the role of the Las Vegas Minister in an upcoming feature film called 'Grey Matter'. The film, starring Heather Graham, Molly Shannon and Allen Cummings, is currently in post-production and will be released soon. Dan will be preachin' and singin' Gospel music, backed by a choir! ![]() ![]() |
